Well, the horehound candy turned out pretty well. (Despite an uncooperative candy thermometer.) I think next time I'll do peppermint, since the backyard is covered with the stuff. -

Sniper Wolf doesn't look Kurdish. I'm not talking about the greenish-blonde hair - that could be either hair dye, or a product of Kojima's "all foreigners are blonds" thing (see Fortune and her dad). One of my current free-time projects involves trying to figure out how well a person can feed themselves for the cost of a pack of cigarettes per day. It can be done, although having access to a discount grocery store and basic kitchen facilities definitely helps. -

I conceived “Blazing Shields” as a Sam/Steve story, but then I realized that Bucky/Sam might map better onto the Jim/Bart template. But if Bucky’s filling the Jim slot, what do I do with Steve? He’s one of my favorites and I don’t want to leave him out entirely ( Read more... ) -

Trying to figure out if Lupita Nyong'o is a Spring or a Summer in terms of personal coloring. The rosy undertones to her complexion suggests that she's a Summer, but she can pull off orange, which is definitely a warm color. -

The apple pie whiskey is very mellow and tasty, the lemon verbena-flower-spice liqueur is more lemony than I'd planned but I'm sick of messing with it so lemony it shall remain. -
