Jinguk is losing the time, waiting for his friend to come out of the Audition. He wants to see what is going on but his friend made him promise to wait out of the auditions. Something about “Do not come. I’ll feel shy if you see me”.
A noise got his attention; someone else is at the same place. Jinguk looks up to see the noise-maker. It’s a boy; shorten than him, who is dancing by himself in the middle of the hallway. Jinguk doesn’t look away because the boy’s movements are hypnotizing. He moves his hips faster as his feet moves around the ground. His chocolate hair shines below the fedora hat and the black leather jacket flies as he dances from one side to the other. There’s no music and yet, Jinguk can feel the music through his veins by watching him dancing.
“Mmm?” the boy sees him, Jinguk looks at his brown eyes. “Hello?”.
“Hello”. Jinguk isn’t the type of guy who talks with stranger, but boredom is killing him. Better talk to the boy than the wall. “Well done”.
“Thanks, I guess”. The boy comes closer to him. Jinguk is definitely taller. “I’m Jason”.
“Weird name”.
“I’m from New York”. The images of the empire states, the lights of the streets and the smell of hot dog recently done got stuck in Jinguk’s mind.
“Jinguk”, he replies moving his head up and down, almost nodding. Jason smirks.
“Are you…” Jason points the entrance of Kirin Art High School.
“Jinguk!” his friend runs to him with a bright smile, hugging him immediately when the distance was just a few inches away. “I’m in! Dude! I am in!”.
He went with his friend to the same old club, Jinguk likes the place. He gets the same feeling of going back home every time he walks in. The darkness of the corners, the girls dressing with almost no fabric, the best drinks. Jinguk sits near to the bar as his friend goes to the dance floor to dance closely with a random girl as he tries to flirt with her.
“Cass, please” Jinguk drinks to forget. The image of the boy dancing is going back and forward in his mind. It’s been a while since he felt anxious and it’s scaring him.
“I want the same” a whisper came from his left side; his ear felt the warm air caressing the skin. He turns around to see the owner of the soft voice. “Hello again”
“Hello”.
The dancer of the hallway of the School is standing next to him, smiling as he waits for his beer. He changed his clothes, of course, his pants are tighter than before and Jinguk has to control his eyes of looking at Jason’s thigh. The fedora is gone; his hair is wet making it look darker.
“Do you come here to dance?”
“No, I don’t dance”. It was a lie, Jinguk used to dance and better than his friend but after the accident he wasn’t able to move his feet at the rhythm of the music. He sees the dance floor with a mix feeling between desire and nostalgic.
Jason drinks his beer, looks at Jinguk and keeps drinking. What Jinguk should say to Jason? He catch Jason’s stare at him but then Jason avoids him and drinks again.
“Did you pass the audition?” It’s an original question and it took more than five minutes to think about it.
“I did”
“Glad to know”
“Glad you asked”
“Well, this is awkward”.
“And if you say this is awkward, it will become more awkward.”
“Okay, that made it worse.”
“Well, thanks for the awkward momento”. Jason left so suddenly as he came, Jinguk blinks no believing what just happened. He sees the table, below the beer Jason was drinking, there’s a paper with an address. What that supposed to mean?
