Long story short, in the last couple of months I've started collecting vintage cameras.

They all look gorgeous - what a fascinating hobby!

My dad bought a lovely Yashica in the '70s, took some fabulous photos, lost interest and unbeknownst to me, gave it away *sobs*

The OH has an early 80s Minolta which I keep encouraging him to have overhauled because he took some amazing photos when he was stationed in Hong Kong.
Are you going to do the mainatainence on them?

I quite like this hobby, and these cameras add to the Polaroid, Box Brownie and the bakerlite Brownie that I already have. It's just a shame you can't get film for some of these cameras anymore!

Oh that sucks, I've heard such good things about the Yashica's.

I'm going to try and do the maintenance on them if I can find the time! I actually don't think there's anyone here in Dunedin that does vintage camera repair and I really don't want to spend a small fortune on it either. Besides, I think pulling them apart and cleaning them out will be fun.

Also, I had an added bonus with the Paxette - when I opened it up I discovered a film in it! It expired in Nov '74 but I'm going to put it in for processing anyway!
