But in reality there's a lot more to say on the matter, it's just that it's tough not to get a bit offensive against religion (especially since I'm a bit antireligious on the philosophical side, although I'm tolerant with people's beliefs on a daily day). Like the fact that not only science never tried to debunk religion (as I've mentioned), but that religion tried to stop the progress of science many times in history, and even today with people rejecting the theory of evolution.
And one of the easiest way to know if an institution is getting toxic is to check if they're trying to either stop scientific progress or censor art or both. Which organized religion has always tried to do throughout history hahaha what a funny coincidence- *punches table*

Anyway, reading some of the responses on the LJ question page really made me think we couldn't have too many answers for this question, so if you wanna make your own post, go ahead!
