I didn't get into grad school and, while at first I was pretty torn up, now I'm glad. I'm glad because the first thing I thought when I realized I wasn't going to grad school was, "Oh, now I'll have so much time to work on my creative projects!"

Just saw Paths of Glory for the first time. Gutting-I think the best war movie I've ever seen, forget Vietnam movies and so on.

I can't get out of my head, though, that in The West Wing, Martin Sheen is playing Kirk Douglas in Paths of Glory. Seriously. They look a little alike, but more than that the accent and the mannerisms-eerie, in a couple ( Read more... )
