Warnings: Mild violence, sort-of-spoilers for Senri's past.
Dream effects: There are feelings of confusion, shock, and fear throughout the dream, and emptiness at the end. Also, any pain mentioned.
He's standing a field, the wind gently blowing the grass and small flowers. Night has fallen, and the moon is high in the sky, its light shining down on him. For a while, it seems to be a peaceful scene, as he stands there, until a growl in the distance breaks the silence. Quickly, he turns to the source of the sound.
Approaching him is a gigantic bear, with three white hairs sticking up from its forehead. It's not friendly, this he knows. Faster than he can react, it swings a paw at him, and he can only watch as blood flies from the wound on his chest. For a moment, he's frozen in shock, the pain not quite registering. Then his reflexes kick in. He holds his arm in front of him, ready to transform.
Except he can't.
He stares at his arm, not sure what's happening. His sleeve falls back a bit, to reveal an arm bare of the mark that's usually there. He has no time to be surprised at this, however, as the bear moves to attack him again. Fortunately, this time he manages to duck, and decides to use his sword if his claws won't come. The bad news is that his sword isn't there. Neither is his waist pouch, for that matter, and as he brings his fingers up to his eye, nor is his eye patch. He didn't realize it before, but he's seeing out of both eyes--a sensation he can't even remember, though he somehow knows that that eye wasn't always covered.
It's then that he understands the situation: He's a child again, his body back in the time he can't quite recall. Only flashes appear in his mind, of two men like him and the mountains.
And of this bear, charging towards him once more. This time, it gets his left eye--and he can't help but think, this has happened before--before he realizes that there's no way he can win. Ignoring the pain in his chest, he tries to run away, even though a mere human can't outrun a bear.
Needless to say, it catches up with him, swiping at his legs. He falls and is unable to stand up, the pain quickly spreading through his body. Somehow, he manages to turn around, in time to see the bear stand up on its hindlegs. It roars, and he know that sound is one he will remember. Then, it swings its arm at him, and instinctively he brings his own in a pitiful attempt to block the attack.
Strangely enough, it works, though not in the way he expected. The moment the bear's arm makes contact with his, it turns into light. It shimmers for a second, before moving into his body, fusing with his spirit. All he can do during this process is sit numbly, not quite sure what's going on. Inside, however, he can still feel the bear trying to strike, as if it's intending to break past his mind. His thoughts are spent containing it, until he becomes barely aware of his surroundings. He hardly notices his wounds anymore.
All he knows of now is the conflict within him.

[It really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who knows Senri that his reaction to this is essentially a blank stare.]
