I've just come back from the hospital wing. Sev has an odd story about being attacked by a stag on the grounds this morning. In all my five years at Hogwarts, I have never seen a stag or doe of any sort. I wouldn't have thought any lived in the Forbidden Forest, not with everything I've heard to live in there ( Read more... )

my best friend sev, life at hogwarts, how odd...

[James is still in the common room with his book, so you might hear him laughing. He's not going to write anything back. Not just yet anyway.]

[Funny thing, she was just on her way down to do her rounds. So once she's down in the common room, she fixes James with a suspicious eye.]

What's so funny, Potter?

[James turns her book around to show her the failed private entry. When he speaks, it's hardly audible amongst his laughter.] I wondered why he wasn't in Potions!

[She just went pale for a split second before she starts turning red in anger.] How did you see that?! That was supposed to be personal!

Oh gosh. That's odd, a stag behaving like that. He's alright, though?

I don't understand it, myself. I always hard stags normally left humans alone unless they were intruding on their territory, but the Hogwarts grounds can hardly be defined as such.

Yes, he's fine. I just got back from checking in on him, and he'll be released in the morning.

No, it can't. And sitting there reading is hardly any sort of attack on its territory. That really is bizarre.

That's good at least, though. Stags can be really dangerous, with those hooves and antlers. Maybe it was a young one? He's lucky that a possible concussion and some cuts and bruises is all that he got from this.

It's possible, but then I have to ask where it came from to begin with. I've never seen them on the grounds before, have you?

And he is quite lucky in that regard, yes.

Yes, a stag. Strange, isn't it?

Just a little. I know virus memories can be a little untrustworthy, but I don't recall deer being common at Hogwarts.

They really aren't common at all here.
