The fishy i had first semester (named Fishy) used to munch on his plant and spit it out and would occasionally keep it down. He was fine for awhile like that, and he would have been fine if the guy told me what to feed him right (i dont think he was a plant-only eating fish). Fish just act like that. My fish used to try and attack it's reflection. We would see him with his nose against the glass, waving his fins aggressively, and then would go swimming really quickly around the bowl. It was cute :-D
