For the past two months, I've been working on the same Doctor Who picspam. You would think coming up with my five episodes would be a piece of cake, but my mind just refuses to list. I'll watch an episode then want to replace one episode with that one. Or I'll think "Maybe I don't like this episode as much as I believe I do." But finally-happily-I

"Midnight" is scarier thank "Blink". I've only seen that episode once, oh my gosh I felt so uncomfortable and weird and kind of depressed. I guess it does its job a little too well for me, and I LOVE horror so that's saying something. I never get tired of watching "Blink" though. Or "The Sound of Drums"! I watch those episodes and "Utopia" all the time. I love cracked-out Simm!Master. MARTHA JONES IS STUNNING, YOU ARE RIGHT, FANDOM BEST RESPECT. And I love that you love "Time Crash". Oh Fiiiiiiive Five my favorite.

All your choices are quite brilliant! I didn't mention "Silence in the Library", "Family of Blood" and "Turn Left" in my word vomit introduction, but I do love those episodes as well. Especially Turn Left because it was a magnificent "What If" story.

Time Crash had me grinning like an idiot. It was so cute, and like you said, David was such a fan boy in his all his bliss.
The Parting of the Ways is brilliant. Of all the finales, it's so well done in regards to the series arc coming to an end (ie Bad Wolf). AND IT'S SO PRETTY. AND Rose was a BAMF. And Chris! I really could watch it a million times and never grow tired of it. (And every time, my heart breaks for Jack being left on his own, never mind him getting his own show/coming back, lol)
While Blink is amazing- like you said, the cinematography is stellar; they make flippin statues seem alive and threatening- I think Midnight is scarier, too. Maybe because the Doctor was actually thiiis close to his demise, whereas in Blink it was a quicker climax with Sally/the TARDIS. But that supporting cast was really in your face with their handling of the alien, and it felt personal.
I really want to do this now; you did such a great job! :)

I really do wish we got more than one series out of Christopher, but I won't trade in "The Parting of the Ways" for different lackluster regeneration story. Everything was so seemingly simple yet overwhelmingly complex. It made sense and unfolded beautifully. If it can make me tear up by only thinking about it, my tears while watching is much more intense. It was just so sweet.
I'm glad I'm finding more people who find "Midnight" scarier. I once mentioned this opinion on ONTD, and people thought I was a bit nuts. You are right. "Midnight" did feel more personal than Blink. After awhile, you felt like you were a passenger.
Again thank you! I would love to see your list if you ever do make one.

Agreed! It was just so perfect. As someone else said, it's sad RTD thought he had to get better and better each year, but he nailed it on the head in series one. Though I do like how RTD had the Doctor regenerate to save someone both times- that speaks wonders to who he is as a character, and just makes him all the more endearing (as if he wasn't already!).

hah, I don't go there that much, but people at ONTD are a little... nuts. Glad we're in the same boat! And I really want to watch Midnight now.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't admit to randomly popping in SoD- Simm!Master is outstanding in season three. He's psychotic, but he's brilliant. ♥

I DEFINITELY AGREE, though I could've done without Ten's speech before he saved Wilf. It was a wonderful acting moment for David Tennant. I just thought it wasn't really necessary, but I'm going to save my "End of Time" rants for another time since I write enough of them on Tumblr. Hahaha.
I hope you get around to watching "Midnight"! I would. Alas I just don't feel like downloading it again. I wish I owned the DW boxsets. I wish I did.
Simm!Master is beautiful, stunning, fierce, brilliant etc. ♥

"Parting of the Ways" is one of the few DW episodes I've ever cried during, and it's just so beautifully emotional and epic without being annoyingly melodramatic. RTD restrained himself very well, I think.
Speaking of restraint, I have to keep myself from gushing similarly about Simm!Master because, well... that could go on for hours, haha. I agree with everything you said re: "The Sound of Drums."

This! I feel like after "The Parting of the Ways", Rusty felt like he had to top himself, but that's never a great goal to have. It only leads to disappointment.
This is why you are my perfect Doctor Who fandom match. It took so much effort to restrain myself from continuing my gushing. I love John Simm. He's such a brilliant actor, and it shows in everything he does. I've yet seen a bad performance out of him!

I believe David's a great comic actor too, though I do believe he does very well in dramatic roles. Basically they are both brilliant and have their own strengths and weakness.

Blink is just the creepiest and scariest episode EVER. I only watched it once. I love it and I'm dying to see it again, but I don't have it. *cries* I'd love to see it in time for tomorrow.
It's funny that you mentioned Midnight and Parting of the Ways because I watched both this weekend. I didn't remember them being SO GOOD. Even though I knew what was going to happen I still felt the exact same way I did when I first watched them. They are gold.

Yeah I know someone who felt the same way about "Midnight". They didn't like it until they watched it for the second time. All and all, I think "Midnight" is one of those episodes where you love or hate it. I never met anyone just plan indifferent towards it. I'm glad you realized how golden "The Parting of the Ways" was. It was truly a fantastic finale.
Thank you for the compliment by the way.
