Someone who is usually pretty reliable said that they like Law and Order: Criminal Intent becasue of the actor in the series. I have occassionally watched the original Law and Order and found it, how shall I say nicely?, "not to my taste." I think you've read too much into the program. It's eggagerated for dramatic effect and in no way pretends to be a real scenario (though most Law & Order episodes are at least somewhat based on fact patterns found on Westlaw - later dubbed "ripped from the headlines ( ... )

To which "religious community" of the family are you referring. The wife, who unless I am mistaken was clearly part of the family, was Catholic.

But then in my view religion does more damage to children than almost anything. No help for me I guess.

The courts are part of the state which is supposed to be secular anyway.

it's such an awful program, but i'm addicted to it like i used to be to NYPD Blue. I hate cops. I hate unethical, unrealistic lawyers and TV shows with sexist and racist themes. yet.... I love zoning out in front of one of those shows.

Hey, I was wondering if I might be able to ask you a few legal (divorce) related questions? Is that something you'd be okay with? I know I got your card when I was at your house but I seem to have misplaced it so I'm not sure how to contact you in a more discreet way than on LJ ;)

I love Law & Order, but I hate Criminal Intent. Every episode can be summarized thusly:
Vincent D'Onofrio: "I'ma use my creepy semi-psychic powers to force you to confess."
Suspect who would otherwise never be convicted: "Okay!"
