[series]: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
[character]: Nia Teppelin
[character history / background]: Here!
[character abilities]:
Despite not appearing to be so, Nia is very strong, and actually fairly skilled with sports due to special lessons in sporting that she experienced before being thrown away by her father. She is also able to cook things so terrible that no one but Simon and his molepig Boota can eat it.

When Nia was born, she had something encoded into her DNA by an enemy called the Anti-Spiral. Once a (very) specific goal was met, it would activate, and she would become a digital lifeform to be used by the Anti-Spiral. This won't be a big deal at all in the game because the trigger for this only applies to her home - she would awaken as the Anti-Spiral messenger once the Earth hit a population of one million humans. Without being there, she won't have to worry about this being activated (not that she even knows about it at the point in canon I'm taking her from). She is coming in long before she becomes the Anti-Spiral messenger anyway.

[character personality]:
Nia Teppelin is a girl with a neverending amount of kindness for the people and things around her. She's very sweet and caring, and also very quick to make friends. She's also quick to reach out and try to befriend nearly anyone or anything that might cross her path. Unless someone is doing something very bad or something she disagrees with, Nia is really friendly! She is forever optimistic, as well, and never lets anything get her down! Even if she might be staring down someone that's incredibly dangerous. When someone's down? She can usually say something to help cheer them up, even if it's only a little. Honestly, it's like someone took a fairytale princess and decided that she would be an awesome fit for a super robot series (and she is).

When Nia believes in something, she believes in it with all of her heart, her soul, and just... everything she has! The amount of faith that she has in others and herself is overwhelming-- it never wavers, no matter what the circumstances might be. Nia is also incredibly determined, and she has a fighting spirit that can rival the fighting spirit of anyone on Team Dai-Gurren. She will not let anything break her down. She will help Team Dai-Gurren without a second thought, and will always try to help them kick reason to the curb and do the impossible. Nia absolutely believes that if someone fights for it enough, they will achieve their goals! Even if the trip there is long and hard. That's what Team Dai-Gurren is about, after all! She is also pretty fearless! Nia will throw herself out into dangerous situations in an attempt to help out her friends. She even does it to get her point across (out of pure determination). Also, despite being raised as a princess, Nia wants to do everything she can to help out wherever she might be needed. She's a very brave girl that wants to do her best for the people around her.

Nia is also somewhat naive about the world - she's been raised to be something like a doll for her father, and she has never had a chance to meet another human until her introduction to the show. It's due to this that there are a lot of things that she doesn't understand! She didn't know what 'fist' or 'pissed off' or anything like that meant until she was exposed to it due to being taken in by Team Dai-Gurren. She is always curious, too; learning is something she loves to do, and she will ask questions if she doesn't get something! Her curiosity is actually what got her thrown away by her father, the Spiral King, since she asked him why she was born. She does misunderstand things a lot, though, due to not being used to being raised in human society. Sometimes she needs help to understand properly!

When Nia found out that she had just been thrown out by her father, and his reasons, it was enough to bring her optimistic attitude down for a little bit. It saddened her that her father just threw out her when she asked him why she was born - and on top of that, it saddened her that there were other girls that were to be like dolls for her father. That did not last for long, though. She was instantly back to being determined, to having absolute faith in Team Dai-Gurren. Nia had absolute faith in her father, too, before she was thrown out. She says that much! She wanted to believe in him, but... the way her father just threw her out for asking a question rocked her world a little (in a not-so-good way, due to the belief she had in him). She couldn't believe it when she found out. It's because of Simon telliing her to be herself that she was able to cheer up, and she proceeded to do exactly that.
