Sorry for the lack of updates... At first I was just tired, and then I was too content to muster the energy to write. The last week was a lovely blur of work that was reasonably productive, a new Harry Potter book, copious dinners out with friends, and wonderful Corey time. "I am too fat, which is why I have a reduced social life and haven't had a boyfriend, which is why I'm with Corey."

What a load of utter bullshit.

I wish you weren't negatively affected by this kind of stuff and could slough it off for the complete drivel that it is. It's good that you are actively trying to keep the weight down but you are nowhere near fat, and there's no need for any external force to make you feel self-disgust. Bloody hell, indeed.

I know, it's ridiculous. And I am definitely hurt by the remarks, but also upset with myself for caring so much. Obviously I'm not changing my life around over this, but it was definitely upset. :)
Hehe, I am on the phone with you now!

what horrible things to say... parents really don't seem to understand the level and intensity of their child's relationship sometimes. actually, it's not just parents, it's people in general. i know that a parent's approval or blessing is always wanted, but it is not necessary - in short, your father doesn't know what he's talking about in this instance.
whether or not your father is happy, what matters is that *you're* happy.

and though i have never met you - you're not fat, you are beautiful and even by just knowing you online i know you have an amazing and genuine heart.

Aww, that was so sweet, Leanna! Thanks a lot, hon. I am happy with him, and I know they'll see that in time and it will probably all be ok. And to be fair, Mom has been great. It was just upsetting at the time. LJ can be a wonderful venting ground at times
Thanks so much for the moral support!
Hehe, I thought of you as I walked past Roehampton today. :)
