All I've heard all day is guys talk shit about Sonia Sotomayor - how Obama "should have picked the most qualified person for the job instead of a token woman/minority."

Well, here are some things you should know about Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court:

I think the conservatives are just all butthurt because Obama will steal the Hispanic vote, the largest minority vote in the country, by nominating a Hispanic. They're worried, too, that she's going to be an "activist" judge. God forbid someone has some progressive opintions. And for the record, I think it's a crock of shit that they're complaining that she's unqualified. Ugh, they were saying the same about Obama. I think she's a great choice.

Scratch that, Obama already has the Hispanic vote. The conservatives are worried they won't be able to win it back in the next election.

From the looks of it, they have a lot of work to do to win ANYONE back in the next election.

Every time a minority judge has been nominated critics claimed they lacked the 'intellect' for the job. Racist much?

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

I agree with a lot of the comments above -- I think that this nomination has DEFINITELY gotten the Republicans worried that there's really no hope for getting the Hispanic vote back from Obama as far as anyone can tell right now. With Sotomayor's nomination, the challenge to create hype on the Republican side of politics is going to be much greater than it was before.
