There we go; much quicker this time! I figured I'd better get this posted before my internet connection decides to desert me yet again. And we've gone into the creepy end of the spectrum, what with Mayuri being involved. One of the few people that could manage to get under Retsu's skin, I think; it's rather difficult not to find him disturbing.

Wow, that was a truly amazing chapter. And I have to say, the more of this challenge you write, the better I notice how incredibly flawless your writing style is and how easy the flow of the chapters is. It is simply a pleasure to read your writing.

And the notion of Unohana's and Mayuri's philosophical beliefs clashing is truly quite an interesting one and you've put it well into perspective with this chapter. It played out really quite well--this ficlet--and I like how incredibly true to their characters both Mayuri and Retsu were throughout their little spat. It was an incredibly good read and I can safely say that now I am eager to see more of your scenes for this wonderful character that is the fourth division's Captain. :3

*blushes* Thanks. I really had to walk the line with how much Retsu visibly reacted; it's so easy to overdo something like that, especially when Mayuri is being his usual reprehensible self. It was tough reigning in her reactions -- most people would have flipped out on seeing what she saw.

Yeah, normal people would definitely flip at what she saw, but then again, I think she had an inkling when the guy took the post that he isn't quite right in the head, so I guess she isn't as surprised as she could be. xD;

Even if it was difficult for you to achieve, that fact wasn't evident in the story and that is what truly makes for a very good author. :3
