Day 1

Our story starts on a sunny Friday afternoon. Arriving later than intended to my house, Patrick shows up, in the Tempo. I'll fore-go ticket complicatons and the like. Stepping in, I noticed my feet hit a carpet of bottles. Root beer. He picked up two cases of Virgil's, so we were set for the weekend. Flipping open the newest Civil War, in preparation for the con we were heading to, it ultimately led to my disappointment. I wanted to blitzkrieg the car, but it was moving, so I deemed it impossible. Miles later, we had gotten lost, in effect getting John lost as well, on the way to Jason's dorm, where we would be sleeping. Finding our way, however, after some ingenuity, we all finally made it to Jason's new dorm. It was gaytastic. A Legolas stand-up, all of Xena on VHS, and American Idol DVD's. What a crazy life. Getting settled with paper-work and all, we finally made it to the train station in White Plains, rushing to NYC as fast as possible. Already quite late to the con, it closing early due to it being Friday, we took a taxi to the convention center. Hopping out, I quickly recovered my pass with my online confirmation. Pat already had his ticket mailed to him. And John, .. well. Here's where his part ends. John decided, at first, that it was ridiculous he had to print out his ticket. Paper and ink, .. why should he waste it? Then he moved onto the thinking that .. last year me and Pat got tickets there, even when they said they sold out. So it'd be the same this year. But guess what. No ticket for John. Pat and I wandered about, getting the layout of the place, before leaving with John. Picked up a quick meal at a nice diner, then headed back to Jasons. Jasons and co. smoked up, and me, Pat, and John gamed. Then Jason and co. moved into the living room to watch Strangers with Candy, .. so we moved to where they just were, to watch Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Good times. In any case. The end, for that night.

Day 2

We awoke 7am or so. Getting ready quickly, we hurried both to the train station, and then to the con. Pat had creamy chicken curry soup for breakfast, and I, chili, at Grand Central. Once arriving at the con, there was a line, as to be expected. So we followed it .. around a corner, .. and down the street. Then, .. BAM! Car on the street opened it's door, and another car on it's side, slammed into the open door! Hahaha. Hah. Okay, back to the line. We slowly, but surely, made our way down the street. Around the corner. Down that street .. about two city blocks. Around a corner. Down that street. Around a corner. Down side of the convention. Around a corner, .. down that side of the convention .. and IN! Walking in, .. what's the first thing we see?! Fuckin' Pikachu!! Following the electric rodent, we got our picture with him, and the Pokemon section. Walking about the first floor of the convention (last year they only had one floor), we bought few things. They sold out of all their DearS art books, so I bought an Evangelion one. And a Sonic hat. A lot more cosplayers this year. Batman's, Superman's, Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Darth Vader, Fett's and Princess Leia's. Slave one, too. We had actually been looking for the line to get the sparce tickets to see Stan Lee but, .. that wasn't going to happen. Got in too late, and most people got tickets due to a $175 special ticket package. Ah well. But while walking through Artists Alley, we discovered where all the autograph booths were. Including, .. Gary Coleman!! Why was he there?! Who knows! But I got to meet the man, and get my picture with him. Going to Hayden Panettiere's booth, we were told a artists "picture" of her would cost $20. Then for her to sign it, it would be $25. And no photo's allowed for her. What the fuck? Yeah. Fuck that. Seriously. Plus, given the VGA's, she's seemed like a snooty little bitch who's too good for the likes of us. Heading back, since no one cool was there yet, .. who shows up? FEEDBACK! Following after the man-turned-superhero, we got first in line to meet him. Then we learned the truth. Fat Momma was there, as well. And Major Victory. And .. Nitro G. Eh. Whatever. We waited for Fat Momma to arrive, to get photo's and autographs. Needing to rest, we ate. Recharged, we were back on the prowl, stumbling across both Captain America and a very hot X-23. Back into the con, we found Guitar Hero II set up in the trunk of a car, so we busted out on that. I did a behind the back, got down on my knee's, pulling some sick moves. Pat when off to meet, .. some guy. Artist. I think. So I just played DDR for like .. an hour, or so. Met some cool people. Almost got interviewed for TV, but this guy who wasn't as good as me did, since he finished on his pad first. Ugh. A professional massage followed, where I apparently blacked out from pleasure. While looking for a supposed den featuring Guitar Hero II, tucked away, I needed to use the bathroom. Emerging, Pat was flagging me down. Going over, he said Hayden .. Hayden Panettiere, .. had just walked by. So I, naturally, being the kind of person who would like to see her in person, stalked after with Pat. That's when some random guy came by and asked for a photo of her .. and she gladly accepted. I turned to Pat, and said, "Were we wrong .. ?" Pat told me later, mentally, he went, "Nooooo!!". But she was gone. Off into some room. Realizing we only had an hour until I had to go to the American Anime Awards, we decided to rest. During which time, we realized, Hayden had gone to her meet-and-greet in that room. And she'd be done by eight, .. meaning she'd leave and, .. we could get our picture with her. We waited, .. and waited. Then, by some form of Matrix deja-vu, she walked by us at the opposite end we were looking. She came from where we had first seen her, and walked back into the doorway we had seen her entire and hour ago. We were too stunned to do .. anything. Admitting defeat, we left.

Walking many blocks we arrived to find a line, of course into the hotel it was being hosted in. Pat had no ticket, but he stood with me until I entered, then planned on waiting for it to finish for me. I was busy following this cute girl, whom I had seen at DDR earlier, in hopes of sitting next to her. Or something. But to no avail. Instead, I sat by myself, .. until Pat comes outta nowhere. Because they had no-shows, they let him up. The awards were great. Lots of fun, got to see my favorite VA's, and FMA won everything they were nominated for, except movie. Which they shoulda' won. Advent Children won, instead. Being shuffled out afterwards, we were told of an after party. Or at least, I was. Intrigued, I made my way to the room .. some guy asking for people's ID's, carding them. But me and Pat just walked in. Thus, .. free booze. And we had the chance the mingle with VA's. Unable to stay too long, we left, and made our way back to Grand Central. A quick ride on the train, and we were home, where I pretty literally crashed. Well, stumbled.

Day 3 aka the last day

Waking up, not even caring when we got there, we just basically walked around today, finishing up stuff we didn't the last two days. Basically, that means actual comic book shopping. Sunday is when everything goes on sale. Most places want to lessen their inventory as much as possible, especially if they don't have local shops. So during this day, things get marked down 40% - 70%, and there's always room for haggling. You can get art books $15 off, .. things like that. However, this is also the day you can "shop", as I like to call it. What that means, is being a thief. Because so many people are doing last minute shopping, and people with large inventories are more considered helping customers than anything, they don't notice a low price item getting shuffled into a bag in a crowd. Not like I do too much but, .. I figure, .. they had enough of my money. I mean, .. all the price-gouging already occuring .. whatever. I took like .. a manga and an artbook. And the artbook only because they were making it so challenging. They watched me like a hawk the entire time. But I also bought something from 'em. Eh. Anyways. Got a great shot of Feedback, Fat Momma, Major Victory, and Nitro-G and me. We left soon after, not much happening that day. We got home, and .. that's it, really. Pictures will follow. The End.
