About that sword training... schearnae March 5 2003, 21:28:14 UTC
When she says lungchuan sword training, she means wushu training with a tai chi sword or straight sword possibly made from lungchuan steel from Lungchuan county in the Zhejiang province of China. But most likely she will get a standard wushu straight sword made of spring steel.

yah bruce rules!

i dont really know you but yah you can be on my friends list, the last photo on the link was taken outside on my front lawn in the snow..in the suuuper cold at night, i had my bubbles help me by plugging in one of those christmas light netting things...(xmas lights for lazy people--you just throw the net of lights over a bush or something) and swinging it around. i used about a 1/2 second to and eighth of a second exposure.. rather slow, but since it was dark the light soaked up and streaked really nicely to make an ambiant and perfect composition.

so you listen to t.a.t.u. also? i like the "opressimia" (clowne) song. i can almost sing the whole thing in slovak

yay for Bruce Lee! lumicia March 6 2003, 01:26:45 UTC
but I prefer Jet Lee more~
I still like his performances better in his Chinese movie..

interesting that you are going to start sword training..I am thinking about taking up either Judo or Tai Ji Chuan in the summer. I used to practice TaiJi with my grandparents when I was a kid..

ooh and go for the VW Bettle!! It's the cutest car in the world!

Jet Li is good... schearnae March 6 2003, 09:33:05 UTC
Li Lian Jie, or Jet Li, is definitely sweet. He's my favorite martial artist of today. Being a 5-time Beijing Olympic gold medalist in wushu and training since he was like 10, I'd say he definitely has skills. Most people watch his English movies and think he's a crappy actor/martial artist, but if you watch his Chinese movies like the 'Once Upon a Time in China' series or 'Fist of Legend', you'll see how good he is. But I like Bruce better because, to put it frank, he would destroy Jet in a fight. Jet started off with wushu, not gung fu, and there's a major difference. Gung fu is based on combat, and wushu is based on performance/grace. Sure, he has gung fu training in things like pa qua and tai chi (internal gung fu), but Bruce was a combat machine who dedicated all of his time to it. Plus Bruce was in way better physical shape. In a fight, Bruce would dominate Jet. I have a pic of Jet as my livejournal icon now, see. It was Bruce before. If you like Jet, check out www.jetli.com and go to the message board forum. There's a Yin/Yang ( ... )

yes definitely. I watched his movies in Chinese so I don't know the English title for them. But I think the "once upon a time" series is set in 19th century Qing Dynast China? I love the interaction between him and his mother.
I like watching Jet Li fight because his movements are very graceful.
Do you like Jackie Chan? I mean Jackie in his HK films. His movements seem kinda crude but his humor always made the film so entertaining.

(Actually The "shu" in Wu shu actually means arts in Chinese)
