(so this is for a fandom we've already discussed you don't remember much of/are a part of, so sorry. but I was trying to get out of my writer's block and this is what came out.)

Visiting Lois on different army bases, watching her uncle teaching her cousin how to shoot a gun.
She held her ears and closed her eyes every time Lois took a shot.
Chloe refused to be taught.
She let her uncle teach her the basics, what to do if she ever found a gun, how to turn the safety on and off, but she refused to fire one. Refused to let him make her.

He picks it out special for her.
Light weight, but powerful. Silver with a pearl handle.
He explains more, but she doesn’t hear it, not really.
“Find a safe place for it.” He tells her. “Somewhere you can get to it, but where others won’t think to look.”
She keeps it by her bed.
(It doesn’t matter in the long run, she finds out, it’s not close enough.)
