Finding The Right Time and Place wistfulmemory April 12 2015, 02:49:38 UTC
Susan sees him as she is out riding, enjoying the beautiful, sunny day after having been stuck inside for a week because of pouring rain. His clothing catches her eye first; it has been many years since she has seen anyone wearing a leather jacket in that style, and the current weather does not require such a garment. The giant blue police box next to him then grabs her attention. That is definitely not something from Narnia. Susan slows her horse, preparing to find her siblings so they can deal with this intruder together, but the snap of a stick under her horse’s hoof causes the man to turn in order to investigate the sound, and Susan is immediately drawn to the man’s gaze. It’s full of mystery and power and immense sadness, and Susan suddenly wants to experience all these things (even the sadness) with him. He smiles regretfully at her, shaking his head slightly, before he sighs and steps into the police box. Susan’s eyes widen in amazement as the police box slowly disappears right in front of her ( ... )

You should read it. If only for Susan, that's fine. But it is truly lovely.

Thank you for the wonderful compliment. :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much.

I've never really considered myself part of the Narnia fandom as I've only watched the first movie (and that was when it was in theaters) and I read the whole series years ago while in high school, and I'm still bitter about the treatment of Susan in the last book, so I haven't really had too much to do with the fandom because of that. However, I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who, so when I saw a prompt specifically asking for Nine, I felt like I needed to attempt it.

I think I would be willing to write some follow up fic of their adventures together. However, prompts with adventure suggestions would be appreciated as I have trouble writing fic without some sort of a starting point.

You're welcome! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I normally don't attempt Narnia prompts as it's been forever since I read/watched them, but when I saw that you specifically wanted Nine, I knew I had to attempt it.
