Religion/Homosexuality

I don't get it. I mean, yeah, sure. I suppose religion has its good aspects. So many things about it are wonderful; in Christianity, for instance: don't murder, respect your parents, don't steal. The moral of the story is pretty much "be a good person and you'll get rewarded in the end." And that's great. What a great message to send out to people ( Read more... )

the way i see it, it isn't christianity that gets in the way, but people using it as a justification to distance themselves from the things they're afraid of (i.e. what they don't understand). what that jesus guy said was pretty groovy. the gospel never says anything against homosexuality; the only places you'll see it is in the section that tells you not to eat krill and in these letters that one man wrote to other people about his opinions/advice. maybe religion as an establishment is the problem, but it's only because everyone's too afraid to pull their heads out of their asses and see some truth. the cornerstone of christianity is to love. the christians treatment of homosexuality/all forms of deviation is the biggest evidence of hypocrisy next to ted haggard.

but we're pretty, so it matters not.
