You know there is a Russian sci-fi matrix/underworld like series that pits the forces of light against the forces of dark. I can't remember the title but I think that one (or both) sides are vampires and the like and that there is this whole "Balance" thing going on in the film. I've seen the first one, I should really try to find out what the title of that bastard was...

Yes! Thank you! And I believe the sequel came out not too long ago, Day Watch or something to that effect?

Eragon was like that, as well. Decent book, HORRIBLE movie. *shudder*

See, I never read Eragon, but it seemed like it was a knockoff of all the Ann McCafferty books that I've read... the movie was ok, but I'm sure it wasn't as good as the book.

Yeah, "Wardrobe" was a pretty good movie, but as much as I liked the books, I just never cared for them as much as I did TDIR.

It looks like the TDIR atrocity is going to be on par with the "adaptation" of the Earthsea Trilogy... yep, someone made a movie of that, too, and it was HORRIBLE. Well, *I* thought it was horrible, because I read the books... the person who viewed it with me thought it wasn't too bad, but he was unfamiliar with the books.
