Appliances, woot!

I love our new house, but as with houses, things break.  The second thing to crap out in our house was the dishwasher.  (The first thing was the sump in the front yard.  [don't ask, it's a rural NE Ohio thing.])   I wasn't horribly saddened by this, even though it meant that I had to wash dishes until we got the replacement.  It was a mid-level ( Read more... )

Like a sump pump? You know, you don't need those if you live in a place that actually has hills.

You may now return to your more interesting blogs.

This IS my more interesting blog.

Hey, NE Ohio isn't all that flat... I live a couple of miles away from the Cuyahoga VALLEY National Park!

Western/southern Ohio? Yeah, that's flat.

Man, the next time you come up this way, we'll have to drag you around to see what you're missing. On a bike. Take that, smartass! ;)

New appliances FTW! Our dishwasher isn't that old but it makes sounds like mating whales. It's the most bizarre thing. It's not first on the replacement list, though. Our fridge is origional to the house (c. 1986) and randomly sprouts leaks from the ice maker water filter/water line. And then there's the microwave...

The microwave has a random blackish burned spot inside where the door should seal. And one of the last times I used it, it emitted a burning smell. It sits unplugged on the counter until we need to use it, which, thankfully, isn't that often. (It's more commonly used as a bread box to keep Cliff from eating the bread.) I want to replace it with a microwave and convection oven combo.

(Actually, my mixer is ready to go, too. It's Mom's old wanna-be Kitchen Aid (it's a Sunbeam or something) and it need to be retired.

It's just a countertop microwave, right? At least those (even convection) aren't TOO terribly expensive... the mixer will probably be more money!

Mmmm, stand mixer...

And fridges that randomly piddle on your floor? Boo!

I hope you get to replace some of those soon... although maybe you can sell your dishwasher on craigslist. Humping whales has to turn SOMEONE on!

Yeah, me too. We don't run the dishwasher at night for the noise and always set the delay timer for when we're at work. It'll be nice to not have to schedule like that!

Funny how that happens, eh? Oh well... I grin at the dishwasher every time I walk by it, so it's all good. :)
