Lollapalooza

Remember when we went to Pecatonica in '96?

Well, this year it's in Grant Park, and dammit, the Killers are going to be there. And dammit, the passes are more than twice the price. Yes, it's two days long, but still. Dammit. Can't afford it this time.

The Killers. Dammit.

Yeah, the lineup looks pretty good, but I have reservations about spending $115. Bah. Paying $150 for Coachella was another thing entirely, because half of that was about the experience.

Yeah, I have a feeling that a lot of out-of-towners are going to come for the experience of going to a concert that huge in Grant Park. I, for one, go to Grant Park all the time now (yesterday I rode my bike up there from Hyde Park!), so that part of the novelty is not there.

Dammit. The Killers. I'm going to have to watch to see if they're coming through anytime soon. Their drummer's GOOD.

I went to Lollapalooza in 1993. Holy crap, that was a long time ago.

If this tells you anything about How The World Has Changed, I went to Lollapalooza with Ernie, his roommate Eric and his best friend Lisa. And he and I were dating then. And not mad/playing head-games/etc.

Time warp, man.

Oh man! I'd totally forgotten that you guys had dated! I mean, I knew, but it's so irrelevant to me that this made me laugh out loud.

I think that the irrelevance is a good thing, by the way. :)

It's weird to be reading some of the same journals as him (and commenting on some of the same posts, too), considering how far apart we are now compared to how close we once were. It's good that we're not close, since together we were, um, moderately destructive, but yeah. Messy. :)

Couldn't you just, like, hang out around the general area and evesdrop? It's a public area, when all's said and done.
