Once upon a time I thought I would read all the Newbery books. Now I know that I won't, nor am I really interested in doing so. But I looked at the list to see how many of them I've read.
NEWBERY WINNERS

2007: The Higher Power of Lucky by Susan Patron - I liked it okay, but didn't love it.

*2004: The Tale of Despereaux: Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool of Thread by Kate DiCamillo - I put it off because it looks too cutesy and just not my thing, but I should get around to reading this.
2003: Crispin: The Cross of Lead by Avi - Read a couple of pages.
2002: A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park - Loved it.
2001: A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck - Old-fashioned sort of story I would have enjoyed a lot in 4th grade.

*1995: Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
1994: The Giver by Lois Lowry - I resisted for a long time because of the terrible cover. Of course it turned out to be fantastic.
