I decided to post a little update after reading strawberrimelon 's entry on the suicide of a girl she went to school with. Unfortunately the reason I haven't been around lately is for a similar reason--no deaths, thank goodness, but an emergency with a friend.

Depression is a selfish disease. It's hard to think about others, never mind reach out.

Hmm, I've thought about that as well. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the actual person being selfish, it's just that the psychology changes. Perhaps the chemical imbalances attribute to this. It's rather sad that it changes the person's outlook on life, and you must know that. :[ I'm glad you have it under control though! <3

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm glad nothing too serious occured and you're very kind to give her the info she needed to get started on treating herself. I really hope it works well for her.

Oh, I know--it's just as physiological a disease as cancer or anything else. It is very sad. It is hard to see the "light at the end of the tunnel." But it's there. I wouldn't have gotten the help I needed if it wasn't for my parents.

Hopefully she'll get the help she needs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her. I hope so too. ♥
