Characters: Tony/Kate, McGee

‘Oh, oh oh! What about this one, McGeek?’ Pointing at another dress on the screen, he smirked over at the tech who continued to roll his eyes at the older man and turned back to his own computer.

‘C’mon Probie, you’re just jealous you can’t fit into a size 4 anymore. Y’know, you’ve really been letting yourself go. Should have less of those donut holes you like to sneak out of the shop every morning.’ McGee sent Tony a dark glare from over the screen of his computer, met only with the bright oblivious smile of the naval recruit, enjoying the discomfort of the other man.

‘I don’t think that’s your color McGee. You’re more of an autumn tone.’ Kate’s voice from over his shoulder startled the other man, sitting up abruptly in his chair and turning to give her a dry look.

‘Do you always sneak up on people, or is it just a ‘Secret Service’ thing?’

‘Secret Service. But I guess you just bring out the best in me Tony.’ Kate gave him a saccharine smile before moving closer to the screen, raising an eyebrow at the dress pulled up. ‘Are you trying for a new look? Didn’t think girls were into that sort of thing, but I guess I missed the memo.’

Tony couldn’t help a small eyeroll before getting a smug smile on his face as he turned the screen so she could see it better. ‘No, m’dear. This is what you’ll be wearing tonight.’ Tony’s grin widened even more as he saw the disgruntled look on her face, knowing that she’d been planning on finding something out of her own closet to wear to the gala they were supposed to be going to tonight. Disguised as a married couple, Kate and Tony had been the first choice out of the whole team, with only a few disgruntled disclaimers, and dirty looks, until they’d settled down at the threat of a Gibb’s slap.

‘Tony. I’m not wearing that.’

‘Yes. you are. Boss said so. Right, Probie?’ Tony shot McGee a look that said if he didn’t agree with him, he’d be getting smacked. When McGee just nodded, giving Kate an apologetic look, Tony stood from his chair with a wide grin and walked over to McGee’s desk. ‘Good job, McGoogle! Now go order it!’

Not giving the man a chance to reply other than a few stifled words, Tony pulled him from his desk and shoved him at his own computer, still grinning over at Kate.

‘Tony.’

‘Yes, Kate?’

‘You can’t honestly-‘
‘Yes, I can Kate, and that’s because I know you, and everything you have in your closet, couldn’t compare to what the other women will be wearing there. Plus,’ By this time he’d made it to the front of his desk, leaning back against it with a smug smile as he watched Kate’s face switch between anger and horror. ‘I think you’d look great.’

‘Whatever, Tony. Have your fun. Just don’t expect me to enjoy it.’ With that Kate turned away with a huff, and stalked away, making sure the boys couldn’t see the small smile on her face at the thought of the beautiful dress she’d be wearing tonight. She’d just have to make sure she could find a way to keep it afterwards, especially if it got a reaction like that out of Tony…
