So, apparently the island was haunted? And Eleanor was starting to worry about Joker. He hadn't answered any of her texts, and she hadn't seen him in a couple of days.
No chance he was holed up trying to beat his high score again, and had missed all of the fun? She knocked on his door, trying to convince herself.
"Go away!" Starscream shouted, as he started collecting the broken bits of his invention. "I'm busy!"
Whoever it was would just have to wait until he was done. Or until the hunger became unbearable and he left the room of his own accord to find sustenance.
Or maybe he was driving himself crazy trying to build some kind of anti-ghost device, and had completely lost track of time. For a few days running. She really wouldn't put it past him.
"It's me," she called, frowning at the door. "You haven't answered my texts. Are you all right in there?"
Joker wouldn't build an anti-ghost device; he'd leave that sort of thing to... a person. Somewhere deep in the confines of his own head, Joker was using all of his energy to avoid thinking about a certain friend of his who had a certain warehouse that this ghost might be interested in.
Starscream screwed up Joker's face in disgust and did his best imitation of a human being. "Well, hello, 'you'! I'm sorry, my cellular telephone is broken! I assure you, I am perfectly fine!!! Thank you for your concern! Now, go away! I'll see you soon!"
