WOOO BANDWAGON
The New Guy: Joker Moreau
Jeff, AKA Joker, comes from Mass Effect, the giant space opera of video games that also birthed Liara, Kaidan, Mordin, Sam, and Jack. One day, he'll be the greatest pilot the galaxy has ever known. Right now he's never been behind the controls of anything bigger than his dad's car, except in video games.
He's from Arcturus Station, which -- shockingly -- is a huge space station in orbit around the star Arcturus. It's 158 years in the future and 36.7 light years away. There's aliens, space, flying cars, telekinetics, holograms, faster-than-light travel -- everything you could possibly wish for in sci-fi. Fandom? Is quaint.
The first thing you'll probably notice about him is that he's a mutant. Not the good kind, like what gives the X-Men their powers. The other kind. The bad kind. The disease-causing kind. He's got a bad case of Vrolik's Syndrome, which makes all of his bones brittle. As a result, he needs both leg braces and crutches in order to walk without his body weight snapping his tibias like twigs. He will NEVER be without them unless I mention otherwise, so assume that he has them even if they're not mentioned in a post. He's constantly getting all sorts of treatments for his condition, but he can't walk without crutches until he's thirty. He'll also almost always be wearing a baseball cap. There's no big important reason for that one; he just likes baseball caps. Height-wise, he's on the short side to begin with, and looks even shorter due to being hunched over his crutches. And also scoliosis.
He's got all kinds of bitter resentment because of the disease, and he copes with it by cracking jokes. He's full of snark and sarcasm and all sorts of fun offhand comments. Some of them are funny. Some are dead-baby funny. Some of them are downright mean. He's not always good at telling the difference.
Joker's voiced by Seth Green, and looks like him, too. If you've seen anything Seth Green has ever been in, you've got a reasonably good idea what Joker's like.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Joker often uses disparaging, and sometimes offensive language when talking about his disability. He's very bitter about it. I'm going to do my best to make sure it doesn't come across as ableist bullshit, but please, please let me know if anything Joker says accidentally offends you.
The Old Guy: Mike Ehrmantraut
Mike is from Breaking Bad, one of the best shows on TV, ever. He was the head of security for a methamphetamine empire spanning most of the American Southwest, and now he runs Turtle & Canary in town. He was also a licensed Private Investigator. He's a no-nonsense, take-charge kind of guy, and he's fond of rolling his eyes at people.
