[For anyone.] Genderswitch pre-play.

When it happened the third time around, it wasn't all that hard to just wake up and deal, but it wasn't all that charming, either. John was a little disturbed to realize how easily he got accustomed to his sort of annual breasts and...other parts. He'd gone about his daily routine all the same but once that was over, John wasn't exactly keen on ( Read more... )

When Alice woke up to find that some people she knew and a whole lot she didn't had been turned into the opposite sex, the first thing she thought was to go check on John.

The second thing she thought was that it'd be pretty hilarious if he'd been switched too.

So she was on her way to New Atlantis when she ran across the woman on the boardwalk or, more accurately, across the remote-controlled car on the boardwalk. She nearly tripped over it.

"Jesus!" she sputtered, staggering a couple of steps and righting herself. She was pretty sure she recognized the car, too. "Watch where you're driving that thing, John-" she began, and then she looked up and saw...

Unmistakably, John Sheppard. Who was, currently, a woman.

She raised her eyebrows. "Women are supposed to be better drivers," she told her. Him. "I guess some things don't change."

"Hey!" John exclaimed in protest when someone nearly stomped all over the truck. He really didn't want to have to deal with Rodney yelling at him if anything happened to it.

When he realized it was Alice, his chin went up and he crossed his arms - then uncrossed them, when he was rudely reminded he had breasts in the way now. "I'm a better driver than you are."

"Bullshit," Alice smirked all over her face. "I didn't crash your speeder, did I? Nice tits, by the way," she added. "They new?"

"No, not really," John rolled his eyes. He had the truck back toward him, then picked it up when it was in reach to inspect it for any damage. "This is the third time it's happened. Nothing really new at this point."

The difference between Rosalind the boy and Arya the boy was that Arya the boy swaggered. She'd been practicing all morning; she hadn't while stuck in John's body, she'd been too busy trying to get it to balance properly like hers did, but this one, this one was hers.

More or less.

"Hi, John," she chirped. Her voice sounded a bit odd, on that, so she tried it as more of a grunt. "Hey."

When John stopped at the sound of someone unfamiliar greeting him, the car stopped as well. He looked the kid up and down a few times, trying to place him at all - or if he wasn't always a him, but a her - "...Arya?"

Nobody else could look that cheerful about being turned into a guy.

"Just so," Arya said, with some pride. That was looking with his eyes. "This place really likes turning you into a girl."

John grinned at Arya and stood up a little straighter. Sometimes he wondered what he would have thought three years ago if someone had told him he'd be pleased at making a fifteen year old girl (most of the time) proud. "Yeah, but look at you, huh? You're almost as tall as I am now."

What Jill was trying to accomplish was simple; she wanted to get home to her own hut without running into anyone she knew, but that was a feat, considering she knew practically everyone who lived in New Atlantis. On top of that, Rodney's pants were too short and Jill kept pausing to yank them down on her very narrow hips. She hadn't been this narrow since fifth grade.

"Oh, Christ," he muttered, spotting someone up ahead. Between the hair and the monster truck, she knew who it was. Maybe if she was really quiet and ducked her head, he wouldn't notice as she passed by.

Unluckily for Jill - and John, of course - another failed attempt at making the truck flip against a small branch over the boardwalk just had it change direction, headed straight toward her.

"Hey, look out," John said, eyes still on the truck when another pair of legs suddenly came into view. He did the equivalent of having it slam on the brakes, then looked up to apologize.

Except, well.

"Uh."

"I swear to God, John Sheppard, if you laugh at me there's going to be some serious problems in your future," Jill threatened, crossing her arms and looking down at him with what she hoped was a decent enough glare. "I'll find a way to give you Marburg."

Okay, so that wasn't possible, but it still felt kind of nice to say it in a twisted sort of way.

There were a variety of reasons all John did was stare for a little while.

One, he was being threatened by his own face, in his own voice. Two, whoever had his face knew who he was. Three...three, he was pretty sure he know who that was.

"I wasn't gonna laugh," he finally protested, eyes still wide.

The morning had, so far, not been going well. While Mikal had been told about things like this happening, she hadn't expected it to happen to her when she'd been on the island for barely a week. Something about that just wasn't right; it didn't matter that people all over seemed to be affected by the same thing.

After finding some clothes that actually fit her new self, she'd headed out to get some air, figuring it might be a good idea to stay away from the Compound for a while. It was pretty fucking chaotic in there. She only stopped because of the toy truck by her feet, but when she looked up to see whose it was, she froze. This just wasn't fucking fair. There hadn't been anyone who looked like her before, and she was pretty sure she would have been told if there was anyone like that around.

"Okay, what the hell's going on here?" she asked, obviously far from pleased. "You look like me. That's my face." Not anymore it wasn't, but that was beside the point.

John paused for a long, long moment, trying to figure out exactly what in the hell Lionel was talking about. First off, he didn't look like himself. Second, he knew they already looked alike - and had expressed his discomfort about it more than once.

"Usually I do, yeah," he finally said, trying not to look at Lionel like he'd gone insane.

Mikal only looked more confused at that, growing increasingly impatient with the whole situation. She'd liked this place so far, despite the weird stories she had heard, but this just didn't make any sense. It was the one time all week she could remember being really, honestly pissed off, excluding that brief moment on the beach she'd though Zia was being a jerk.

"Usually?" she echoed, incredulous, hands moving to rest on her hips that still really didn't feel right. "What? No. I don't usually look like this. Usually, I look like that." She jabbed a finger in the direction of her doppelganger, lips set in a tight frown. "So, again. What the hell is going on?"

Holy crap, was that what he looked like when he got pissed off? No wonder Dave had always ignored him when he got into those moods. John would have ignored himself.

"And usually I look like you," John said, crossing his arms, "only ten years older. Look, it's just a thing, it'll be over in a few days. Hasn't anyone explained this to you?"
