Unspoken Spoken Word

So, one of the things I enjoyed at the AWP (Association for Women in Psych) conference was our guest Spoken Word Artist Nafessa Monroe. that was very well written. emotional trauma i think is the hardest (if not impossible) thing to overcome. some things we just have to wait on Jehovah to fix in the paradise.

thanks for commenting and yes, I think you're right.. the physical scars of trauma leave fast but the emotional/psychological aftermath is potentially a lifelong pervasive difficulty and I never realized that it would be so.... just assumed.. with the right help, dealing with it all, I would be okay but it doesn't happen that way.

I know Jehovah will fix us in paradise but for now, it sucks. It feels so odd sharing out loud even hints of something so personally traumatic but in another way it's freeing I think... I know I tried to learn that soem from Dena because she was so giving and loving to people and willing to share painful parts of herself at the risk of inproper judgement from others.

I think writing is such an excellent vehicle of emotional expression but one that also leaves me feeling vulnerable and and raw but than again, in putting words down on paper, I hope somehow it eases the pent up years of stress inside of me that Im always afraid to share with others.
