Although when this season started out I wanted answers about what happened four months ago straight away, I'm really glad that they waited until now to explain things. Naturally they didn't explain everything, but I think what they did explain was more powerfully done than it would have been had we been told things from the start. For example, the Maya and Alejandro storyline: We knew that they were wanted for murder, and that Maya's power had killed a town of people, however, we didn't know the details. So watching the wedding, you knew that everyone was going to die - except for Maya and Alejandro - and that just made everything more dramatic, and sinister. I had no clue that Alejandro had been married - seems like he jumped into things too quickly, I mean really, getting married after only knowing someone for four months? Maya was certainly right not to trust her. And Maya becoming a nun was a surprise too! It seems that perhaps Alejandro is not the stopper to her power as she somehow turned it off after she ran away. Maybe he can hasten the stopping of the power because he can calm her down? And also, he can now reverse the effects, at least some of the time. I've found their stoyline interesting so far, I like them.
Another example of how knowing what happened more recently, but lacking knowledge of the past four months was the Niki, DL, and Micah story. They seemed like things were finally getting to a good place with them, finally getting to be a family, Niki and DL having regular jobs. It seems like The Company had Niki taking heavy doses of an antipsychotic along with the Haitian pills - judging from how she was acting at Micah's birthday. I recognized the sort of dazed expression and inability to express emotions from my own experience of being over medicated (obviously not with Haitian pills though...). It was a little disappointing though that Niki appears to actually have MPD rather than being possessed by Jessica's spirit as I had previously thought. But oh well. I felt so bad for her - for all of them. DL's death happened so quickly, and Niki's reaction to it was so sad. I don't like Damon; he was so insensitive at the funeral!
I had no idea that the regenerative powers could heal the mind/restore memories. Very cool. It's a good thing that Peter took the photo of him and Nathan from Nathan's hospital room. I'm glad that Peter remembers everything now - hopefully he'll get to be reunited with Nathan soon. Their flight when Peter was about to explode was touching :(
Elle is certainly demented, and not too good with people, I'd say. I do feel kind of bad for her though. Is Bob her father? Or maybe he was just the one she was calling "daddy" on the phone because he seems to have raised her within The Company? I don't understand what's up with Bob. He seemed like an okay guy in the last episode, but why was he keeping Peter locked up and refusing to let him see his family? Because of my confusion on if Bob is a good guy or not, it makes me wonder if Kensei/Adam is actually as evil as I'd thought. Does he actually want to help people? I mean he saved Nathan, but was that only because he wanted to have Peter get him out of there? How the hell did Kensei/Adam get them tickets to Montreal so quickly anyway? I also wonder who Kensei/Adam used his blood on previously, as I assume he did - otherwise how would he have known it would work on other people?
After the scene with mama Petrelli and Heidi, I'm assuming that mama Petrelli used her powers of persuasion to convince Heidi to take the boys and leave Nathan. But why? Why would she want to do that? I think before mama Petrelli used her powers to tell her about the supposed Petrelli family secret, that Heidi was thinking this new story about Peter and Nathan having been in a car accident was crap. When she brough it up to mama Petrelli it did not seem like she bought that. After her experience with Linderman healing her, I think that Heidi probably believed what Nathan said about Peter being the bomb and so forth. I hope that Nathan gets back together with her and gets to be with their boys again. But from the last bit of this episode, it seems like Nathan went to the pub in Ireland to find Peter? :(
It also seemed like for some reason Bob let Niki leave The Company headquarters, which seems like a seriously bad idea with her being infected with the - at present - incurable Shanti virus. Hopefully that was a flashback as well, otherwise I'm thinking that the virus is going to spread really quickly, and that can't be good.
The previews for this episode said that we'd have answers to what exactly happened with Sylar - but there wasn't anything with him aside from a shot of him with the twins in the car, which told us nothing more than we already knew. Hmm. Also, will we get to find out how Matt came to live with Mohinder and Molly? I'm under the assumption that Molly went to live with Mohinder after the events at the end of season 1, and then Matt joined them after he and his wife got divorced. Although, how long was Matt in the hospital? It would seem like he'd need a lengthy stay to recover from being shot in the chest four times.
I can't believe there are only 3 more episodes before this volume comes to its end. So much is going to happen in those episode. I'm so worried! Heroes episodes always go by so quickly!
