all sounds good. hadn't realised "gay genes" don't happen in korea... so is there any Punishment of kids (or adults for that matter) who act/are gay?
or is Korea more along the lines of don't ask/don't tell/don't notice?
given there are still plenty of societies where being gay can result in loss of jobs, beatings, jail or even (think Iran) execution, simply pretending it doesn't happen seems like a reasonable alternative.
do keep posting here!
peace James, keep having good times

there's no punishment 'cause it doesn't really exist...though there is a gay district in busan.

Yeah, when you said bathhouse, I assumed it was the Church street kind of bathhouse.

they call it a ginjewbong (phonetic spelling) here. there's a gender neutral section, but you have to get clothed for that area.

this update is amazing! you must do more. i've heard korea is fabulous. i've also heard you can buy an ounce of pot for like, ten bucks, because they consider it a 'soup spice'. i think you have to go to 'farmer's markets' to do this. i have no idea if i'm giving you information that will lead to you having your hand cut off.

what?! this is the first i've heard about this pot! it's like impossible to get here - and if you can, it's like 60 a gram! plus if you get caught you're deported. (the korean gov't doesn't want to give korea a bad names to prospective foreigners wanting to teach here - so no harsh penalties).
