When I go to Golden Gate Park for Lindy in the Park, there are always a group of skaters dancing around in their own little patch of smooth asphalt. It always looks like so much fun, so last night I decided to go to the Redwood City Roller Rink for Rainbow Skate ( Read more... )

If you want to really challenge yourself skating, head over to Stanford on Wednesday nights. There's a big group over there that starts around 8 (I think) and skates for an hour or so. Some of them are scary good--as in, "How high a jump are you comfortable going off of skating backwards?"

But that's sport skating on inlines. I want to do rollerdisco! Think Xanadu. It's all about the satin hotpants and glitter, baby!

At one San Diego exchange they had one of the dances at a roller rink. Unfortunately we didn't have the whole place to ourselves. I did try to do swingouts on quads to disastrous effect :)
