I'd pay them a full dollar so that they will have to keep your account open for even longer and it will cost them even more.

OK, probably not with that small a business. But I did exactly that with Fashion Bug about 30 years ago. They managed to seriously piss me off.

can you imagine us going after a customer from 4 years ago for more money because we found out we should have charged sales tax?

Tell me about it. When you make a mistake like that, you pay it yourself and go on from there. If the customer comes back and buys from you again and remembers that they didn't pay sales tax last time, you just tell them that you didn't discover until later that it was eligible for sales tax, so you just ate the tax. Especially when it is all of 75 cents.

Exactly.

I'm just going to mock them a bit more and forget about it. Actually, I googled the address and I'm a bit confused. It's a townhouse in Kentlands - maybe the previous owner of the chiro practice lives in the 2nd & 3rd floor appt? The 1st floor is a foot massage business and the building is for sale. I was seeing Dr. O at BodyTech until he bought the practice and renamed the place. (I'm still seeing Dr. O) This invoice is from BodyTech.

No problem. Just write their address as the return address and "forget" to put any stamps on.
