Title: Wishing You Were Here Again
Rating: G
Pairing: Broken 2min, Onho
Summary: Sometimes we say things we don't mean.

As the old and broken train rumbled over the tracks, Minho let out a deep sigh. The younger boy had his head against his shoulder, peacefully sleeping, not knowing how much heartbreak he had brought about. Minho turned towards the window, blowing on the glass.

His rough finger, skin peeling, traced shapes subconsciously, as he tried to forget everything that had happened the past few days. He kept blowing, wanting time to stand still as he disallowed his thoughts from running wild. The more he tried to control his thoughts, though, the more he started to think about those times. He shook his head hard, trying to dispel those sickening thoughts. His chestnut hair tickled against Taemin’s neck, causing him to stir.

Taemin’s eyes fluttered, as he grew accustomed to the sunlight streaming in from outside. Rubbing his eyes, he carefully sat up, his tiredness getting the better of him. He turned towards his hyung, but his eyes darted to what Minho had written on the window. The words were quickly fading, but Taemin managed to get a good glimpse of what he had written - “Lee Jinki saranghaeyo”.

His eyes widened, not believing what he had just read. He doubted he had read it correctly; Minho would never do something like that. He had promised him earlier that he was over Jinki, from the time they broke up. But wait. People could still have feelings for the people they once loved, even after they broke up, right? Damn, breaking up was nothing but saying that you do not care about someone - and sometimes we say things we don’t mean.

Minho noticed Taemin waking from his slumber, and could not help but let out another sigh. He hated how his emotions constantly battled within him; and even harder, the fight between his head and his heart. He knew he was supposed to look after his dongsaeng, as his parents willed him to. And he would have loved to, if it didn’t mean being apart from Jinki. His heart, it yearned so badly for him. So many nights he had stayed up, hands pulling his knees to his chest, rocking himself to sleep as he thought about how he used to meet Jinki behind the school gates every evening.

“Hyung?”

Taemin tapped his shoulder, tearing him away from his train of thought. Minho turned to him, giving him a nonchalant look. His eyes asked Taemin what he wanted. The younger one looked away shyly, cheeks turning pink. At the back of his mind, Minho felt a spark of annoyance. Was he ever as shy when he was in high school? Taemin could act like such a child sometimes, growing embarrassed over the littlest things, like seeing him fully exposed.

“What do you want? Hurry and get on with it.” Minho willed Taemin to speak, before he lost anymore of his patience. Taemin looked up at Minho carefully, stuttering as he spoke. “Hyung, do you - I mean, is there a chance that, um...” his words came out in spurts, his ability to form coherent sentences temporarily gone. Minho looked confused, unsure of what he was asking.

Taemin exhaled, trying to gather the courage to ask him, once again. Suddenly, seeing the slightly pissed expression on his hyung’s face, anger boiled over, and something within him snapped. Why was he so concerned about what Minho felt? Minho sure didn’t care about his feelings, always putting him second after Jinki, that bustard that wasn’t even supposed to be involved with him.

Taemin forced his hands on Minho’s shoulders, gripping them tightly. Minho’s body tensed slightly, wondering what he was about to ask.

“Do you still like Lee Jinki?”

His eyes were full of fury, no longer able to hide the emotions he had kept inside of him for so long. Taemin raised his eyebrows, face hard and stare heavy on Minho. Minho kept silent, his eyes turning towards the window. He looked at his reflection, and also saw the look of absolute detest on Taemin’s face. The young boy looked confused as well, not knowing what to do with the emotions that were flooding out, after being bundled up for months. He deserved an answer. He deserved the truth.

“Yes, I do.”
