Salinger

For the faithful, the patient, the hermetically pure, all the important things in this world -- not life and death, perhaps, which are merely words, but the important things -- work out rather beautifully.

My training period is only ten more shifts.

What's wrong with just saying "pure"? Gets the point across well enough. Also, hermetically? What a strange adverb to use with the word pure. I maintain that if you got me drunk enough I could write Salinger-worthy literature.

Yeah, but keeping you drunk long enough to write a book would be a neat trick. :P

Considering how badly I hold alcohol, though, I imagine it actually wouldn't be too hard. The need to be intoxicated is giving Salinger too much credit, come to think of it. I've read Catcher in the Rye once for every year of schooling since freshman year of high school and still don't see what's so great about it.
