if any of you have any tips/experience in selling a used car, can you let me know? A friend of mine is looking into selling her car but seems stuck on how to go about it without having to deal with possibly shady/underhanded used car dealerships.

Take photos and post over craigslist.

This is how my roomie and I bought our first jeep in june, fixed it up, sold it over CL for a better model jeep we found on CL, fixed that and sold it again, and found an even better one over CL.

Private sales. When she founds a potential buyer, the buyer can get a new car ownership kit from the MTO for $20. Includes a bill of sale page that the current owner and the new purchaser signs and dates. Same deal with the ownership papers. Sign it over to the new owner. Done deal.

i am just gonna take the easy way out and get screwed, but i think having an illinois title makes it impossible to sell it on craigslist as well. bah. i hate money
