Merlin's luck seems to be holding and he's worked his way into an inner circle without even trying. The corrupt magic holding everything together was well described and the idea that its the life's blood to this city gives everything an ominous slant. The population of Camelot has little idea they're living on borrowed time and stolen magic.
The Isle gave Merlin the opportunity to let go, but I'm concerned that the alcohol and magic have made him too open. On the plus side, he's finally met Arthur. On the minus side, he's met Morgause, too. I'm off to see what the morning after brings for these two men.
