Facebook is full of racist assholes

Heck, they are nicer on Reddit too.

I blocked a guy for being racist. So he opened a new account and started yelling at me for blocking him.

wow... you just need to be more selective of your list I keep hearing about people who have to get rid of people on their list for shit like that and I marvel because I rarely have to do that.... I'm just super-picky I guess

Yeah, I have too many people. If someone adds me I add them back, and there is no way to tell if they are a troll or not.

Well, actually I stopped doing that when I realized I had hit the 5000 limit and couldn't add REAL friends.

I have too much invested in my Facebook--lots of photos that I would lose, lots of friends I would lose, plus I get a lot of freelance design work from there. It's hard to be on the internet without a Facebook (or Twitter) presence.

It's not that we're nicer, exactly. It's just that LiveJournal makes us use more words, and encourages full sentences.

And by the time that you have to bother to use entire words and sentences and thoughts and stuff, it's just no longer worth it to post bigoted stuff. The whole POINT of bigotry is that it's easier and it lets you NOT think about things.
