I had a wreck yesterday on the Connector, where I-75 & I-85 cross, heading north. I took Maia to Georgia State University, and very quickly, I have to cross four lanes of traffic so that I get into I-85 to head home. I was invited to a Halloween party tonight and I wanted to go, but it was about an hour and a half drive away and, while I could come up with a costume, my diabetes is acting up and I felt like shit. So I didn't go. I feel terrible about it.

It seems like about 1/3 of the people in my neighborhood are selling out to developers, who are tearing down these great historical mid-century ranch houses with hardwood floors and knotty pine beamed ceilings and building these huge modern monstrosities that hug the edges of their half-acre properties and are clear-cutting big 60+ years old trees ( Read more... )

Dwight and I have been married 32 years today. Coincidentally, our daughter Halley was conceived 30 years ago today.

We've both been married a lot longer than we were previously alive. We met each other one month before we moved in together, and lived together five months before we tied the knot. It was love at first sight when we first met.
