Is that really possible? The mean radius of Mars (~3400km) is about twice that of the moon (~1700km). That would imply that for them to appear to be the same size Mars would have to be about twice as far from earth as the moon is, which just isn't going to happen.

OK, so I Googled "mars august 27 snopes" and voila, it's apparently a hoax. Bummer.
