I was looking at a someone's profile, and when I stumbled across these rating/stamp things I went "....yeah, kay, STUPID."

And then there was an FMA one and... and... I just can't resist. I'm sucked in.

General Stuff

Name/nickname: Regina! Sometimes called Sparrow, but mostly by myself. Also some people call me a vorpal bunny, and I don't know why.

Age: 22 minus four days

Likes/Hobbies: Playing computer games. Watching television. Arguing with the television. Living out in the middle of nowhere. Farming. Reading almost anything, but scifi/fantasy/post-apocalyptic rule the fiction, and it's mostly science and history for the non-fic. Writing, sometimes. Obsessively fiddling with things for about a week and then totally forgetting I was ever interested (ex. soapmaking, weaving, journalism, landscaping, furniture refinishing, etc.). Discussions, especially political or religious because people get angry and it's funny. Sharp things. Shiny things. History. Stories. Pretty girls. Pretty jewelry. Big, burly boys. Tech toys I can't afford. Fast cars. Trees. Sunsets. Old things.

Dislikes/Pet peeves: Stupid people. Mistreatment of animals. The welfare system (I work for it, trust me, NOT FUN). Those who butcher the English language, especially the ones who look at you like you're an idiot when you attempt to correct them. The phrase "Where's it at?" People who try to tell me my hair is bad (curls =/= bad). Ignorance (different from stupid people). Cities.

Strong Points: I will argue any of my beliefs with anybody. An ability to retain reams of basically useless information, occasionally interspersed with possibly useful bits. A long memory. A belief in the basic goodness of people which, frankly, doesn't jibe all that well with my basically cynical personality, but there you go. I can play devil's advocate like nobody's business. I can see both sides of issues (I just think mine's RIGHT). I am good with animals. I'm good at test-taking.

Weak Points: I will any point with anybody, and I won't shut up. I'm convinced that if I just keep talking long enough I will be able to explain myself so eloquently as to convert the person to my beliefs. I'm not good with people in general. I don't deal well with stupid and I'm kind of an intellectual elitist (I know it isn't good but... well, if you knew my parents you'd get it) and I live in a town of people who are depressingly idiotic. So... yeah, not so good on the people front. Or kids, kids unnerve me. I'm judgemental. I talk too much. I'm lazy and I procrastinate and I'm a glutton (go out to eat and I will order the steak every time-- I don't care how much it costs) and a hypochondriac and have a slight tendancy to whine about my situation (though I feel this is compensated for by the fact that I'm working to better it).

Talents: Aforementioned retention of useless information. I can keep a beat. I can make my lips form a square, does that count?

Favorite Color and why?: ... this changes EVERY FIVE SECONDS. REALLY. Um, if I had to, my top five would probably be gray, green, goldish yellows, pale lavender, and blue. Note that red isn't on the list and yet 75% of my clothing is red. And my car. I would like an explanation of this phenomenon...

Favorite Sport: Horseriding! Or things with water. Umm... really I'm not the sports type though. Dogsledding is cool, that's a sport, right?

Mature or Immature?: Eh. I've always been intellectually mature, not very socially, and emotionally... well, it's getting better. Overall, I can fake it but inside I'm five, ok?

Leader or Follower? Explain why you believe you are that way: I have been known to lead, but only when I have to. I mean, if nobody else will, I'll bite the bullet and do it, but I'd rather follow-- leading's too much damned work. Actually, by preference I would be left alone, but people don't seem to agree with that. It's irritating.

Some Thoughtful Questions

If you were an alchemist--what would be your specialty and why?
I can think of two possibilities. Either something to do with extracting information-- from things, from people, whatever. I have an obsessive need to know things. Or something to do with life-- not like the Sewing Life alchemist, but more along the lines of working with the body. That could be used for evil, but then, it seems like every alchemist's specialty can. OOH! OR! Just, like, elements in general. THAT WOULD BE COOL.

You have a friend who digs turning objects into gold. S/he doesn't care about the taboo. Do you tell the authorities, join up with him or her, or congratulate/scold the person but leave them alone? Why?
I would warn them of the consequences and then leave them to it. I don't like ratting people out-- even when I really should-- but I'm a firm believer that if you're going to get in trouble for something, you probably will, and I don't want to be involved.

If you could get rid of your most painful memory, would you? Explain why or why not.
No. If you take away my memory-- any part of it-- you are taking away something of who I am, and how will I know myself then?

Answer honestly. Could you kill someone? The very first time is the hardest, most say. Could you look down the barrel of a gun--or whatever weapon you have--and pull the proverbial trigger? If the person had done something horrid to you? If that person had killed the best person in your life? Remember that you'll likely go to jail/get in some form of trouble--so think who you might rather go to jail for too or if it's even worth it.
I've asked myself this question before (I'm prone to morbid questions like that). It depends on the situation and the consequences, of course, but if the situation required it, I believe that I could. I don't beleive that life is 'sacred'-- important, yes, but if necessary I think I could kill. I just hope I don't have to-- I doubt it's a pleasant experience for anyone involved.

Is there anyone you look up to in your life? And I mean in real life, not anime or movies. Real life (where it is rumored that the three-dimensional roam). If so, who is it and why? If not, why not?
It's hard to think of anyone I know personally. Not that I don't respect the people I know, but a) I'm not the type to 'look up to' someone, and b) everyone I know has their high points, but like all people, tempered with bad points, and I'm too able to see both. I guess if I really had to choose, I would say my father. He's been knocked down every time he turns around in life, and had to build back up from nothing, and he's done it every time. I'm scared to death it's killing him by inches, but he just picks up and keeps going.

Do the ends really justify the means? Don’t look at anime/movies/books/ect-because usually, they do. Think of your own life and the real world around you.
It depends on the ends, and the means. I think it probably works out around fifty-fifty.

Are you pedantic?
Yes.

If you didn’t/hadn’t know what that word in the above question meant-did/would you look it up or just wing an answer?
...I was about to say "There are people who don't know what pedantic means?" and then I remembered I live in the real world, not my friendslist.

OPTIONAL SECTION

Just like school. Please READ the directions.

Please remember-these two questions are optional. You don’t have to do them. If you only want to do one, that’s fine-just delete the other one. If you want to do both, fine. If you don’t want to do either, just delete this part. No one is going to judge you based on whether you answer or not.

Let's say you've got an arch-rival that you want to beat more then anything. For some reason or another, this rival and a good friend of yours have been forced to stand before the Gate, you with them. You have a choice. Going through the Gate--you may die, or you may end up in some other world (or so you've heard).....you can either risk going through the Gate yourself, make your enemy go, or make your friend go. Now think carefully here because you're not the one in complete control. If you go, who's to say your enemy won't kill your friend. If your friend goes, who knows what will happen to him or her. If your enemy goes, will the two of you be allowed to the return by whomever sent you to the Gate in the first place? What if you all go through the Gate instead? Or what if you banded together to try and get back to your own world? Would the relationship between you and your arch-rival change? There are a lot of unknown factors so you must think carefully--you don't know that it goes to a world [“our” world-Alfons’ world] that's relatively safe and much like your own, after all. This question is meant to be vague on some details, just as the actual situation might be, where you are forced to make a decision when you don’t know what will happen. What do you do?
My preference would be that we all band together. What we do then I suppose depends on the friend and arch-rival. I tend to be cautious overall, but faced with big things I often opt for adventure, so I think I'd be inclined to go through the gate. However, if they prefered to get home, I'd work with them for that goal. If the arch-enemy was unwilling, I'd find some way of eliminating the necessity of working with them-- which I guess amounts to pushing them through the gate, killing them, or grabbing the friend and going through (though that leaves the enemy perfectly capable of following, I'd imagine).

Actually, you know what, screw all that. I grab the friend and go. Yay for adventure!

This is a more strategical question.

There are five men/women. Two snipers, two alchemists (one can use sand/earth, the other can do duct tape, and I'm not kidding on that one), and a civilian caught in the crossfire against four vile alchemists (they can use fire, metal, diamond and wood). You are the commander, whether you want to be or not (you make a choice whether you'd like to be an alchemist, soldier, scientist or whatever). You are stuck in close quarters so it's either them or you. You have the advantage of knowing what kind of alchemists they are (and don't underestimate the diamond alchemist, diamond is the hardest material in the world) but they don't know what you and your group can do. What do you do against them? How do you set up your people? How do you fight?

----
Ok, I'm going to be making some rather broad assumptions about Duct Tape Alchemist's abilities, because, well, what can't you do with duct tape?

Assuming that the civilian has absolutely no tactical use, I'd keep him/her close (and quiet, with Duct Tape Alchemist's help if necessary). I'll assume I'm a soldier, since adding another alchemist into the mix would screw up the question (I mean, I could make my powers ANYTHING) and why would a civilian be in charge?

Snipes positioned strategically (I'm assuming we have some kind of cover here) to take out Diamond and Fire, with Sand-man (:D) defending them and providing a distraction to allow their fire through, with orders to go on the offensive if there's an opportunity that won't leave the snipers unprotected. I figure fire (unless it's raining :)) and diamond as the most dangerous, and that would hopefully take them out rather quickly.

Duct Tape and I would take on the other two-- me with a gun (well, soldier) and Duct Tape immobilizing-- you can't very well draw the necessary symbols with your hands duct-taped to your legs, right? ...well, not easily anyway. The benefit of this setup is that while the alchemist immobilizes, I can render them rather less fightworthy (or dead, if it comes to the necessity). I figure we go for wood first, as a probably less dangerous opponent (I hope), and then concentrate on metal. I figure it's a given, but any of us taking out our designated targets would then help the rest of our party with the others.

And, lastly, if you want--please post a picture or two of yourself.

It's old, but it's all I've got access to at the moment:
