I was glad that she said what she said though. That meant maybe there was a chance that she would stop hating Angel one day. I didn't want the kids to have to grow around with a bunch of tension between the people they loved. Not that there would be no tension because families didn't work that way.
Tyler reached out and took his sister's hand and she giggled and squeezed it. They were already so connected and I knew they were going to be a force to be reckoned with. It was so overwhelming to watch them together. To be able to participate in their lives was a gift I wasn't going to be able to repay.
The water was warm and the kids were having a time splashing us and each other so I didn't feel bad that I couldn't say no to them.
"Faith asked me to move back here to the beach. She wants me to be a full time part of their lives. I'll feel better if I know you're sticking around here and not hanging out in the jungle ok."
