It didn't take me and Angel long to get out of the compound now that there weren't scientists around to bother us. It was almost like a ghost town now which made it even creepier. Where had they all gone? If my father was here, did they all go back and forth between the island and the real world? Grace had said this was a different dimension so there must be a portal somewhere

I was still pissed that he had grabbed my neck so I tossed him as hard as I could...right into Dad. Shit. That wasn't intentional, but it wasn't like I could do anything about it. Harry jumped up to come back at me, but Dad held him back. That made me smirk because someone was already a whipped puppy

Getting out of the compound was a lot easier than it should've been considering every scientist in the entire building had disappeared. I didn't know what the fuck that meant, but with Faith carrying around her unconscious sister over her shoulder I took it as a favor. We were on our way back to the beach when Grace woke up and at least for once things seemed to not being going straight to hell

The rest of us had stepped to the side to give Harry and Faith some space and time with their kids. I wasn't really comfortable yet talking with Angel or Connor, but Kennedy seemed okay. Apparently she was a slayer too and so I guess that just meant this island was full of superbeings no matter what kind

Tyler immediately took Nicole's hand while Lexi refused to let go of me. They were kind of fearless and that made me proud and really scared too. Their mother and I were both known being kind of reckless and well what if that was a genetic trait

The further we got into the water the tighter I felt little fingers holding onto my hand. A small wave crashed at our feet and he pressed against my leg. Smiling, I picked him up and rested him on my hip which he seemed to appreciate and thankfed me with a splash of water before giggling

"I think Angel is wigged out that I have a soul. He didn't really expect that."

I was glad that she said what she said though. That meant maybe there was a chance that she would stop hating Angel one day. I didn't want the kids to have to grow around with a bunch of tension between the people they loved. Not that there would be no tension because families didn't work that way.

Tyler reached out and took his sister's hand and she giggled and squeezed it. They were already so connected and I knew they were going to be a force to be reckoned with. It was so overwhelming to watch them together. To be able to participate in their lives was a gift I wasn't going to be able to repay.

The water was warm and the kids were having a time splashing us and each other so I didn't feel bad that I couldn't say no to them.

"Faith asked me to move back here to the beach. She wants me to be a full time part of their lives. I'll feel better if I know you're sticking around here and not hanging out in the jungle ok."
