[Snake looks at Halley with concern. The younger man's eyes are glittering and there's a light flush across his cheeks. His lips are slightly parted and he's breathing a little heavily. His artfully mussed hair seems preternaturally sleek and shiny and really really pettable. Snake shakes his head to clear that thought right out. There's an overall softness to Halley's features that Snake doesn't remember him having.]

[Is he sick? Snake wonders to himself. Why's there a Gaussian Blur over everything? And what's wrong with me?]

[Putting his hands on Halley's shoulders, he looks deeply his friend's eyes.]
