Summary: Three lies and half a truth that hurts a lot more
Warning: Angsty
One day, I will pick all the very best stars from the sky - yes, the very best because you deserve nothing less - and decorate them one by one in the depths of your eyes. Some will inevitably spill out onto your cheeks and drip down the length of your slightly crooked nose but others will simply sink into the brown depths of your gaze as you continue to see the world in the way only you do and maintain the mystery with which it views you in return.
Some day I will personally steal all the sunbeams from the heavens and lay them, strand by minute strand, into your hair - only the sun would do, I would never cheapen them with something like fire - so that your halo becomes even more prominent in this bleak world. The dazzling sunrays will pale in comparison, some will fade to dull wheat while others will try to outshine your natural beauty in garish shades of flashy yellow, but most will simply count themselves lucky to be part of the invisible crown that always sits atop your brow, the brow of a queen everyone can see and no one acknowledges.
Maybe in the future, there will be a language meant only for us, with words only we can say and hear. And I will use all those words to beg your forgiveness and to articulate how much I love you. I will not pretend I deserve you because no words in any language will make that statement true, but I will utter every syllable that finds its way to your heart and in each of them will be my regrets - as well as my promise to you, one I must keep and one I cannot in good conscience make because I am not as strong as you.
I never have been.
And finally the truth comes out.
