Coffee Challenge

Al doesn’t mind getting up early, that’s not the problem. Generally he’s quite happy to start breakfast before his brother has processed that it’s morning, and it gives Al a thrill to see Ed’s face light up when he finds his coffee waiting for him.
The problem with today is that it’s too goddamn cold, but it’s Ed’s birthday, making coffee mandatory, and coffee in bed preferable.
He is rewarded when he returns to find Ed grinning at him, coffee clearly not on his mind. Al sets the cup on the floor and it is entirely forgotten just minutes later.
