Shaking his head violently, Roy responded, "No I haven't. I can never fully atone for what I've done. For what I am doing, to her."
"You have suffered enough, Flame Alchemist. But I doubt you will ever believe it." Before Roy could respond, the guard continued. "You have a visitor."
"Who-?" he asked before being interrupted by someone appearing in the doorway to his cell. "Riza," he breathed.
She didn't answer him. Instead she strode forward hauled him up by the collar and gave him a desperate kiss. Roy's eyes widened, and he was too surprised to respond.

Jeremiah waited until the kiss was finished. "I will make sure you have privacy." Riza nodded without looking at him. He turned and shut the door.
"Riza, what are you doing here? I'm not going to change my-" His words were stopped by her fingers on his lips.
"I know. I will keep that godblasted promise to you, but in return I want this. I want you."
His eyes widening, Roy stepped back and sat down heavily on the bed. "You- you can't be serious...."
Frowning, Riza pushed him on his back, "It's Equivalent Exchange isn't it? You and father always put so much stock in that principle, then why can't I do the same?"
"This is hardly the time!" he replied, worried at her red rimmed eyes.

Roy had promised him-promised-that there would be no one else. He’d promised him the last time this had happened, and the last time before that, and the last time before thatNow he stood by the open bedroom door and listened to the sound of moans and pants, of heavy breathing and whispered words of lust and desire ( ... )

Ed folded his arms and watched; his anger growing. He felt the urge to lash out, to hit something, to cause damage. His anger was one of his less attractive personality traits, Roy had once told him. After that he’d tried to control himself. He’d tried to be what Roy wanted him to be. After all, Roy liked him-even said he loved him-and Ed had a feeling that he was lucky to have even that ( ... )

“I can’t,” Alfons replied, choking on the words.
Ed leaned in close, his face inches away, “You won’t.”
“Edward, I don’t belong there. I know you need to go home, but I can’t go with you. How would it be any better than you staying here?” Alfons wished he still thought Ed was crazy, that he could still think Ed was losing what was left of his sanity and nothing more. At least then, there was still hope.
Ed scrubbed his hand over his face, “I can’t stay, you know. In the morning I’m leaving, and I won’t be back.”
“I know,” Alfons replied. There might have been more, but Ed’s lips were over his, lonely and desperate, and he found himself wishing for simpler times.
He’d seen Edward many times in passing. It was hard not to, after all. They studied under the same man, and Ed stood out beyond reason. Always, when Ed seemed to notice Alfons, the look was the same, something surprised and ( ... )

“I don’t think I’m going to be there today,” Ed sighed into the other end of the phone.
“Why? Are you feeling alright?” Alfons asked.
“Oh sure. I’m fine.”
Ten minutes, and something like pulling teeth had acquired the truth. Alfons had never met Ed’s father, but he’d apparently disappeared without a word. He’d been gone long enough now, that Ed seemed fairly certain he wouldn’t be returning. Alfons found the resigned way he just accepted that sort of abandonment to be strange, but left Ed to his own devices. He considered offering to let Ed stay with him… after all, he did have an extra bedroom. Ed didn’t give him the chance, though, hanging up as soon as he was given the breathing room to say goodbye.
In the end, Ed had come to stay with him, though, and that was when something started to shift ( ... )
