Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I'm glad the fic worked for you. I liked that it the manga/BH Hughes' death remained a moving force for Roy until the end, but I too wished there had been a scene for closure... But that's what fanfic is for!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. I'm sad I didn't know of this comm earlier, but then I was never very deep in the fandom (but I've been revisiting the canon lately, so it made want to write fic; I'm actually workin on another, bigger project right now).

It's quite fitting for Roy (and Riza) to say goodbye as they did in your story. Hughes's death was and is one of the most heartbreaking things in the manga. This story is beautifully executed. Thank you for participating!

Oh, ouch, get me right in all my Hughes feels. This is a really amazing piece from Roy's POV on his own actions during the final battle with Envy and beyond.

This just gets you by the heart and squeezes. Maes's death is still the saddest part of FMA to me and this was a lovely look at the wreckage it left in his friends' lives.
