Love this! It really rings true, and I love the idea of Al teaching Roy about his alchemy. The whole thing is understated, and quietly hopeful, and just really wonderful.

Thanks! Al and Roy (and Riza) do understated very easily. I had a lot of fun writing this.

Thank you so much for my story (and sorry for the short delay in telling you so) I loved it. I loved Al's concern for Roy and vice versa and all the little details like Al smelling the pine tree, what Ed would think of all of it. And glad to see it was the optic nerve that was damaged in Roy (versus some other ideas that had little to do with how vision works) and I loved the shop talk in the explanation of the clap alchemy. And as always, Royai is very welcome. thanks again

You are very welcome! I was really excited about writing your prompt. I like writing shop talk (partly because I desperately want to make alchemy make *sense* and it really doesn't, even in canon. *sigh*.)

I'm glad I got the science plausible. The optic nerve was the only thing that immediately made sense to me; since the Gate takes something, and it didn't take his actual eyes, and he was completely blind...

The Royai in this was fun to write! I love them so much. :D

yes the alchemy is more like magic in this

optic nerve or occipital lobe of the brain and the optic nerve would be less damaging

Oh yes, I love Royai very much

This is a very lovely story. I love reading Al and Roy together, as I think they'd work well together as allies and working companions.

The description of the clap alchemy worked really well in the story; that it takes a few seconds for Al to explain how it works is nice.

Good job!

Thank you! Yeah, I think Roy and Al are compatibly subtle and weasely. :D

I stopped just short of having Al start waving his arms around and talking about that *thing*...

Ahaahahahaha, yes, I can imagine Al doing that - but Roy had seen the Truth and the black arms, so....
