[Looks up when he hears the voice, starting at how close it is. He'd become so absorbed in his reading that he hadn't heard anyone coming. Arches an eyebrow when he sees the little (relatively speaking) kid looking over his shoulder.]

A book about the technology here. [After all, how else is Ed going to figure his way around this strange city?] And you are?

[Gives him a calculating look.] Where are you from? [Frowns at the sight of the arm. It's a metal, mechanical arm certainly, but it doesn't look like automail. If it's automail, it's very CRUDE automail.]
