[Testing the waters, Ed looks around. This place is completely alien, but he can tell that if he wants to get back to Amestris, he'll have to learn how to navigate it. He eyes everything going on around him on this level before 'parking' himself. If he understood right, he can just sit here while he works on the physical level. Ed grabs a book in ( Read more... )

[Peeking over your shoulder at the book!]

What're you reading?

[Looks up when he hears the voice, starting at how close it is. He'd become so absorbed in his reading that he hadn't heard anyone coming. Arches an eyebrow when he sees the little (relatively speaking) kid looking over his shoulder.]

A book about the technology here. [After all, how else is Ed going to figure his way around this strange city?] And you are?

Some of the stuff they have here is really strange. Mifune explained some of it to me though.

Reading. You?

[Glances at the girl. Certainly looks like this place will be active, with people walking right up to him. He has a feeling he's not going to get much reading done.]

[Puts the book down and leans back in his seat, rocking on its hind legs.]

Not much to do around here, huh?

Aha?

[looking at your arm there, Ed]

[Ed twitches when he finds the strange lavender haired man eying his arm, and part of him wonders if he knows anything about automail. After all, much as the alchemist hates to admit it, without Winry, Ed's up a creek without a paddle.]

Something you find interesting?

What type of technology is this? Doesn't look like simply medical attachment for an amputated limb. Hm!

...

Of course, I don't know much about medical science. [^-^]

[Damn...]

Never seen automail, huh? [Flexes his right fingers, balling them into a fist and relaxing again.]

[A little bit of satisfaction runs through Ed as he touches the other guy's white coat and it suddenly shreds like paper, bits and pieces flying off of him in the backlash of energy from the transmutation.]

[+_+ Nice arm there Ed] You don't seem many people with cybernetic replacements.

fmed July 4 2008, 02:52:06 UTC
[Wrinkles his nose. Cybernetic? What the hell does that mean? Had to mean his automail though.]

Not that uncommon where I come from. Although I hear that I'm not the only one around here to have one.

Ah, I meant here. In this city. It's common where I'm from as well.

[Anakin is now rolling up his right sleeve and pulling off his leather glove to show Ed his mechno-arm. Then waves.] Yeah, I have one as does my son.

[Gives him a calculating look.] Where are you from? [Frowns at the sight of the arm. It's a metal, mechanical arm certainly, but it doesn't look like automail. If it's automail, it's very CRUDE automail.]
