1st Smile; video//action to RV-mates

Apr 05, 2011 13:00

[The laptop recorder shows Hakkai's threateningly-happy smiling face. He's in the little dining nook of his RV.]--So it appears our little road trip is underway. When I attempted to leave, I found myself in a waiting room, and then on this RV. Gojyo, I assume you're on one of the other ones ( Read more... )

[ Gojyo doesn't have clue one about how to use a laptop, much less about how to activate video conferencing. Fortunately, not knowing that good computer maintenance includes keeping the lid down, his is open and on when Hakkai starts transmitting. ]

...Hakkai!

[ And the display is nothing but Gojyo's forehead, as he leans way too close to the camera to whisper. ]

Hey, be careful wanderin' off, okay? I didn't think they'd ever let me out of there!

Ahaha. You're the one who entered the contest, so I don't see why they should let you out.

[U mad, Hakkai?]

[ Oh fuck you. ]

How long're you gonna hold that over my head, huh?

As long as it takes for us to get out of here.

[He's lying. He'll hold it over your head even after that.]

--Ah, you must be one of the other passengers.

[Hakkai stands and offers a polite bow.] I'm Cho Hakkai. It's nice to meet you.

[His manners are a bit calmed from a moment ago, and while a bit on the terse side, he's definitely friendly.]

From the list, [ bowing, wow. she comes across the room to offer her hand instead . ] right. I'm Lenalee.

[ she looks around awkwardly, puzzled by all the glassy boxes. ] And you've tried to get out already. How organised.

Then it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Lenalee. [He shakes her hand, then, firmly but very politely.]

My party and I have a tendency to find ourselves in a lot of trouble. It's best to have a contingency plan.

[ Flynn is still in a bit of a mood, if the little frustrated lines in his eyebrows are any indication, but he's always been one to make the best of the situation. He wedges back onto the 'RV', trying not to scratch any of the paneling with his scabbard. Getting an armor stand is top priority, should he really be stuck in this place.

Hakkai gets a friendly, if understandably distracted, nod as Flynn continues surveying the interior. ] I'd say good morning, but...

I appreciate the sentiment, at least. [Hakkai offers a mild smile.] Have you eaten breakfast? If you don't like cereal, I could fry you up some of the that spam. It's not up to my usual standard, but it's not terrible eating.

Spam...? [ Flynn blinks at Hakkai, suddenly quite aware that yes, he is rather hungry. He tends to forget to eat when stressed, and the past few days - back home and ..wherever here is - have certainly been that. ] Ah, I wouldn't want to trouble you. I can cook for myself, if you would be kind enough to show me where to find things in the kitchen.

In the cupboard. They're tins of meat, pull the tab on the top and you can take it out, slice it however you like, and cook it. It's overly salty but it is a decent source of protein. [pause] I believe the pots and pans are stored under the sink - do you know how to work an electric stove?

[Hello, fellow captive! Have a fairly calm looking young man poking at the stove]

Hmmmm...? It's all Western.

You already tried to get out?

I have. Both when I arrived here and when they announced they were carting us off on these trips. Neither attempt was productive, I'm afraid. Ah well, we must press on!

[Watching him poke around the kitchen.]

--The cooking set up isn't bad for a small, mobile space. I sort of wish I could install something like this on my Jeep, ha ha. The supplies, on the other hand, are woefully inadequate.

Did they just push you back in? That's not fair.

[Akagi is already in the cupboard, pulling out... tin cans, one after the other. They are unfortunately all the same, and he is not very impressed by their look.]

Is this really food? It doesn't look like it.

[To prove his point, he takes the top off of one can and upends it on the counter. The meat slides out with a wet plop and jiggles where it lands.]

You can cook in a Jeep?

It's spiced and has a high amount of salt and preservatives, but technically, it's food, and has marginally more nutritional value than the corn flakes, though less fiber.

--I was thinking I'd have to remove the back seats to do so, but they're of no use anyway. [It's a nice fantasy, at least, to kick the two arguing 'children' out and install a kitchen set. Not that Jeep would particularly enjoy the development, either.]
